Chronology of Diplomatic Relations:

Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Principality of Monaco were established on February 1, 1993.

Since 2009, the Principality of Monaco is covered by the Embassy of Georgia in the French Republic.

Bilateral Cooperation

Bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the Principality of Monaco is not active.

There are no parliamentary relations between the two countries.

In September 2011, Albert II, Prince of Monaco, paid a 3-day official visit to Georgia. He visited Tbilisi, Batumi, and Svaneti and besides the formal meetings, had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Georgian culture and traditions.

In 2020, Charlene, Princess of Monaco and the royal delegation of Monaco paid a charitable visit to Georgia under the aegis of “Ai Ia” Foundation. During this visit, the Princess, together with Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia, the founders of the charitable foundation "Ai Ia”, and other honorable guests visited a sports complex located at the Olympic village and Tbilisi Parasports Development Center. The founders of the “Ai Ia” Foundation awarded the Princess of Monaco a certificate of honorary membership of the board.

The Principality of Monaco supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and backs the resolution on the status of internally displaced persons and refugees referred to the UN General Assembly annually.
